Customer Snapshot: United Bristol Healthcare NHS Trust Following an extensive European Journal procurement exercise RosterPro emerged as the preferred system for automating the current manual practice of developing staff working patterns and duty rosters. The staff time and attendance data captured at rostering time will be electronically transferred to the new NHS ESR system, using RosterPro’s R-Link interface.
The Trust was also looking to integrate the process of self-rostering and covering shortages via the internal “bank”, using RosterPro’s integrated R-Bank module to help drive down temporary staffing costs. Using it as an integral feature of the current self-rostering interface is particularly powerful, giving staff a single point to both issue working preferences and notify availability for the bank.
Also as part of this project HMT have developed :
- SMS Texting facility: this will enable the Nurse Bank office to send messages simultaneously to mobile telephones to enable staff to choose to work additional shifts at short notice.
- Medical On-call Rostering: this will offer new web-based functionality to medical staff so that their On-Call responsibilities can be managed in a ‘real time’ situation by allowing them to browse duty rosters and swap shifts.
