Customer Snapshot: Gloucestershire Hospital Foundation Trust

All hospitals know the importance of ensuring that all staff have the required qualifications, training and competence for their role and that these skills are maintained. To date there has been no easy way of making all the information readily available when rostering staff for a shift, so to ensure that the correct skills base is in place.

Working with HMT Systems, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has now developed a Training Records system which has replaced multiple independent databases.

The RosterPro R-Train module can be used as a standalone system or incorporated into the RosterPro self-rostering system, and will hold all of the information relating to staff training and competency records - information factored in when planning the roster and allocating staff to shifts.

The new system is a web-based module holding information on the minimum requirement for qualification and certification. Managers are automatically alerted when courses are due for renewal.

By having such a sophisticated system in place, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are able to improve patient and staff safety and make significant savings on clinical negligence insurance premiums (CNST) of up to 20%.
